APPS
HOW DO THE COMPETITIONS WORK?
NerdOut competitions are Smule Sing! based competitions. Contestants sing and send in entries through the Smule Sing! app and get their assignments through being in our group chat on the LINE app.
WHAT APPS WILL I NEED?
Contestants will need to download the Smule Sing! app and the LINE app to take part in the competition.
WHAT IS SMULE?
Smule Sing! is an online singing app that enables anyone to create, discover, love and enjoy music. Today 1.5% of the world's population (that's 125 million people and counting) have used Smule's apps and they are creating communities, meeting new like-minded friends, and having fun making music together on Smule. It's all about creating, sharing, discovering, participating and connecting with people.
WHAT IS LINE?
LINE is a free calls and messages app, with voice and video calls, messages, and a limitless variety of exciting stickers. With over 600 million users worldwide, LINE's constantly expanding platform will continue to provide exciting new experiences and convenience.
DO I NEED TO BE A VIP MEMBER?
No. Although being a VIP member of Smule Sing! can be very helpful it is not a necessity for my competitions. Me and my team members will always be around to open songs for you throughout the competitions.

AGE & FILTERS

IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT?
16+ is the age limit for NerdOut Competitions.
IS THERE A PROFANITY/BULLYING FILTER?
There is no rule on what explicit language can be used within the chat, however, i make sure to prevent nasty language being used as well as abusive or horrible comments. I do NOT accept bullying under any circumstances and those seen doing so are removed from the group and banned from future NerdOut competitions. Any issues or problems that arise with contestants are dealt with in a calm, friendly and professional manner. Matters are dealt with as fast as possible by JLH - Each contestant that is involved is listened to thoroughly and their word is taken into consideration when deciding on a final decision. Everyone is equal and we are all friends.

AUDITIONS

WHERE CAN I FIND AUDITIONS?
NerdOut Team Members will have auditions up on their Smule Sing! pages, as well as being posted in the NerdOut Smule Group. You can also find auditions by searching the competition hashtag or searching the #audition hashtag on Smule.
HOW WILL I KNOW IF I HAVE PASSED THE AUDITION?
Some NerdOut themes take ALL auditionees through to the competition - Other themes you will need to receive 3 YES's to make it through. You will receive a comment on your audition to say if you have passed or not.
HOW LONG IS THE AUDITION STAGE?
Auditions can be open for between 1-2 weeks depending on the size of the competition.

THE COMPETITIONS
​
WILL I HAVE TO PERFORM A VIDEO FOR THE COMPETITION?
Most NerdOut themes do not require a video, however, if a theme does require video you will be told at the Sign Up stage before you enter the competition.
HOW WILL I GET MY ASSIGNMENTS?
You will need to download the LINE app and add jamiieleiigh - I will add you to the competition chat rooms where you will receive your weekly assignments and scores.
DO I GET TO CHOOSE MY OWN TEAMMATES OR PARTNERS?
Yes and No! If you are entering a Duet or Group competition then you will choose you partners and group members before auditioning, however, if you are entering a Teamwork competition then no you will not be able to choose your teammates. Teamwork competitions do not require you to sing with anyone else, just work as a team within the chat.
CAN I INVITE PEOPLE TO JOIN?
You can share auditions with your friends and family and tell people to join and take part in any competition you want to be a part of. However, you can NOT add them to any of the NerdOut chat rooms.
HOW LONG ARE THE DEADLINES?
Deadlines vary in every theme - days, weeks, months... there is no answer. You will be notified before signing up to the competition so you can decide if it's the right competition for you.
WILL I GET FEEDBACK ON MY PERFORMANCES?
This varies in every theme - Teamwork competitions you will have to use a "power" to get feedback / Solo, Duet and Group competitions you will only get feedback if the winner is chosen from vocal ability and performance.

PRIZES

WILL THERE BE A PRIZE AT THE END OF THE COMPETITION?
There are two entry types into each competition.
a FREE entry winner will become an official NerdOut Team Member and be featured on the website and social media pages.
a DONATION entry winner will have a chance of winning a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prize - Prizes will be listed on the competition page of the website for you to see what you can win!

DONATIONS
WHERE DOES MY DONATION GO?
Your donation goes into NerdOut's donation pot which gets used for NerdOut's prizes and website!
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU DON'T GET ENOUGH DONATIONS?
Even if you are the only person to donate, you will still receive a prize should you win.
HOW MANY DONATIONS CAN I MAKE?
As many donations as you wish. Your donation only goes towards the competition you are currently entering. However should you wish to pay a yearly subscription to cover you for all NerdOut competitions, I can set something up.
HOW DO I DONATE?
When you sign up via the NerdOut website, there will be a donate button. If this does not work, simply message jamiieleiigh on LINE and I will send you the link.

PRIZES
HOW DO I KNOW THIS IS REAL?
You are welcome to speak to previous contestants who have won prizes in the past. I will also be setting up a winners page soon that will feature photos of those who have donated and won a prize.
WHEN IS THE NEXT PRIZE ANNOUNCED?
Prizes can be seen at the bottom of the competition page. This will tell you what you can win should you donate to NerdOut.

WINNERS
HOW IS THE WINNER CHOSEN?
This depends on what type of competition you are getting involved in, but the majority is having the highest score. You can find out more on the competition page of the theme you are entering. Sometimes there is more than one winner!
WHEN IS THE WINNER ANNOUNCED?
The winner/s is announced at the end of each competition

POSTAGE
DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR POSTAGE?
Although helpful, you are not expected to pay for postage. This is a prize you have won having donated.
